Can a full-band signal jammer be installed in a prison for DC power supply?
With the continuous development of science and technology, informatization has become an inevitable trend of modern society. As one of the symbols of informatization, mobile phones have become an indispensable tool in people's daily life and work. However, in some specific places, such as prisons, in order to ensure safety and prevent information leakage, the use of mobile phones is prohibited. Therefore, the full-band signal jammer came into being, which can effectively shield the mobile phone signal, so that the mobile phone cannot connect to the base station normally. However, there are still some problems with electricity, especially in places like prisons.
Generally speaking, most of the full-band signal jammers used in prisons are of low-power type, and their RF transmission power is usually 2-3W for each frequency band, and the total RF transmission power of the whole machine is about 30W. At the same time, their overall power consumption is roughly in the range of 120-200W. The signal jammer itself is equipped with a switching power supply (or power adapter), whose function is to convert AC 220V into 5V or 12V DC to provide power consumption for the equipment.
Considering the large number of signal jammers used in prisons, it is necessary to consider centralized on and off control in terms of power supply. The easiest way is to concentrate the power supply of all signal shielding instruments in each building on one AC power supply line. However, the existing power supply methods in the prison are all powered by DC, so the customer asked whether it can be powered by DC on the existing line to save the cost of switching power supply and power line layout.
However, this approach is not advisable. The main reason is that the power consumption of each full-band signal jammer is not low. When using AC 220V power supply, the current in the power line is close to 1A. When multiple signal jammers are connected in parallel on one power line, the total current value will only accumulate slowly. If it is replaced with a DC power supply, the current occupied by a single full-band signal jammer will reach 10-20A. When multiple signal shields are connected in parallel on a DC power line, the total current will reach hundreds of A, which obviously violates the correct circuit usage specification.
Therefore, when using a full-band signal jammer, it is recommended not to change its power supply mode to DC power supply on the existing line. Instead, it should be specially equipped with AC 220V power supply, and centralized on and off control should be adopted. This ensures the proper functioning of the signal jammer without causing damage or other unnecessary risks to the circuit.
In general, the full-band signal jammer has become one of the important equipment to ensure safety and information confidentiality. When using it, we need to carefully consider its power supply method to ensure that it can work normally, and also pay attention to the safety and stability of the circuit.
