Debate on cell phone jammers should be legalized or not?
Some people say yes. For example for many people on their phones who do not pay attention to what is going on around them. Drivers especially, distracted driving is far too dangerous. Or how about Workplace Conversations... You don't get paid to be on your phone destroying candy or what other video games.
Will the need to communicate is also a glorified way of supporting cell phone use. Jammer jammers should be legalized in public libraries, in schools, colleges etc. (At least in classrooms) Vehicles should be fitted with cell phone jammers when the vehicle is in motion (kill switch automatically activated when a crash is detected when the vehicle is not moving, etc.)
Some say no. For example, people will always have a need to communicate, even in the most uncomfortable places. Legalizing cell phone jammers will simply open up the ability for private businesses to decide if they want people to be able to use their phones when visiting their facility. This would create a multitude of problems.
Or they said cellphone jammers should only be used by law enforcement agencies and other entities that may have to block cellphones for security, like airports. Civilians could use cell phone jammers to isolate crime victims and prevent them from calling 911. Commercial interests could use cell phone jammers to force people to use phones.
