Cell Phone Blockers in the Netherlands

The Netherlands mainly uses three cellular frequency bands: GSM900, GSM1800 (DCS) and UMTS. The first two are used by major mobile phone providers in the Netherlands as the main frequency bands for Dutch citizens to make calls, send text messages, etc. UMTS frequency bands are used to implement 3G services nationwide. In order to provide 4G broadband mobile network services to their customers, all three Dutch mobile service providers have purchased licenses in the 2600MHz frequency band in 2010, so 4G connections in the Netherlands currently use this frequency band. KPN

KPN is a large telecommunications company in the Netherlands. They own the largest mobile network operator in the Netherlands, KPN Mobile, and a handful of brands like Telfort that also offer mobile services. Among them are mobile virtual network operators Simyo, Hi, Ay Yildiz and Ortel Mobile.

KPN uses the GSM900 and GSM1800 (DCS) frequency bands to provide cellular communications. They also provide wireless internet access through their companies XS4ALL, KPN Internet and Telfort, providing Wi-Fi access to the people of the Netherlands.

T-Mobile Netherlands

Sometimes referred to simply as T-Mobile NL, it is the second largest mobile communications provider in the Netherlands. The company uses GSM1800 as its main communication frequency band. In 2010, T-Mobile Netherlands had some issues with 3G capacity, but after investing in network modernization, they managed to fix it. So now they offer 3G services using the 2100MHz band, but they can't overcome KPN on the customer side due to lack of capacity.

Vodafone Netherlands

The company is the third of the major mobile telecommunications operators in the Netherlands. It was formerly known as Libertel. Vodafone Netherlands provides mobile phone services using the GSM900 and GSM1800 frequency bands. In addition, they provide customers with connections such as GPRS, UMTS, HSDPA and HSPA+. The latter two are technologies used in 3G communications to increase their upload and download speeds to higher speeds. All 3G services provided by Vodafone Netherlands use the 2100MHz band in their operation. The company is also the first mobile service operator to launch a UMTS network in the Netherlands.
